Blue Ray Laser Question?
I was just wondering how durable the laser is its self… If I were to put something on my disk, a very small amount of water, or blood, would it cause harm to the laser? Also If I were to dissemble my blue ray player, exposed the laser, than put a small little drip of blood, or water on it, than put it back together and tried to watch a movie, would it harm the laser in ANY WAY? Do not ask why I said blood, I am just wondering because blood is thicker than water, so it makes sense.
The whole point of using a laser in a CD, DVD, or Blu Ray player is the ability to focus the beam on a microscopic area of the disc you are playing. The pattern of reflected laser light is converted into data that is then interpreted as audio and video. Anything that you put on the optics that interferes with the focusing ability will prevent you from playing the disc.
